Easy Move

Or really an outfit that makes me feel easy-breezy but not overdressed. I think that in the blog world, I’ll never be overdressed, but in my real world, there are times that I dress up a little more than I should. This, however, seemed to be just the right outfit for lunch and a stop at the thrift store (just in case you didn’t know: good food, good coffee, and good thrift store hunting are my new favorite things).
I’ve been looking for a piece of furniture to store some of my clothes. I share half a closet with Chris, so you can imagine how I’ve been overcrowding his side with my clothes and accessories (and my growing supply of handbags–more on that later this week). I didn’t want to buy a heavy armoire (although I’m sure that’s what I would need) because we have a small apartment that I’m sure we’ll move out of sometime in the near future. So, what was the next best thing? How about a vintage kitchen cart with three shelves? I liked the movability and the surprising spacious capacity of the cart. So, this has become my new dresser:
I know, it looks silly, but I figure, it’s easy to move, and I could always use a wheeled tray in the bedroom in case I’m feeling extremely lazy and want breakfast in bed (although the likelihood of eating in bed is pretty low due to the fact that 1) I’m a messy eater and I wouldn’t want crumbs in the bed, and 2) there is no TV in the bedroom–so, sadly, I can’t think of another reason to have a rolling cart in the bedroom).
So, I managed to haul my thrift store finds into our apartment wearing this outfit. Oh, and I also did grocery shopping which I managed to do in record time (I think I was in and out in less than 30 minutes–not bad considering we haven’t been to the grocery store in about two weeks).
I hope to post more on my thrift store shopping adventures sometime this week. I hope everyone had a good weekend!
P.S. Despite the very concerned look on my face, I had a nice weekend.
P.P.S. Stay tuned for Easter photos!
